The Commonwealth countries, with a membership of 53, are bound by their common British heritage yet are unique in their diversified range of culture, traditions and tourism offerings. The Commonwealth Tourism Centre serves the member nations and the public as a point of contact on the Commonwealth countries and their tourism development. Find out all about this group of nations and its focus on tourism through the Commonwealth Tourism Centre.

The Commonwealth association is formed by 53 countries, with a total of 1.8 billion citizens representing some 30 per cent of the world's population. The countries have a shared heritage of colonial influence, all having come under the British Empire at one time. However, their uniqueness - in culture, tradition, race, religion - set them apart from each other.

With the emergence of the tourism industry as a major player in many Commonwealth economies, there was a need for a common organization to unify their efforts and act as reference point for anything related to Commonwealth tourism. The Commonwealth Tourism Centre was created to fill the role and today it serves the member nations and the public to the best of its abilities.
