| A presentation on Island Management and Backpackers Tourism was held on 11 May 2006 at CTC. This presentation was made by Dr. Mark Hampton, Director of Studies for Tourism Management, University of Kent, UK. The main objective of the presentation was to learn from the experience of research findings and best practices of Island Management and Backpackers Tourism with the view of CTC organising a Commonwealth seminar in the near future for member countries. A total of 22 participants, comprising of CTC officials and as well as officials from the Ministry of Tourism, Malaysia and Tourism Malaysia, attended the presentation.
