Bau town has been known for her gold mining activities in the early days and a cave that situated at there named Fairy Cave. Located about 8km south of the town of Bau, in the Kuching division, and about 40km from the city of Kuching itself.
The Unique of this cave is about the stalactite and stalagmite formations on the floor of the caves that resemble figures and animals. There is also have a formation that has been likend to the Goddess Of Mercy which at about 3m in height resembles a woman dressed in classical chinese robes, complete with hat, looked down benignly upon worshippers.
